Volvo Works Toward a More Refined Image

For many, the Volvo brand has always whispered luxury. We say "whispered" mainly because the automaker has worked to deliver high-class vehicles that are also discreet. Rather than flashing money signs, past Volvo models have been a bit more modest. While this trend doesn't appear to be changing anytime soon, company officials have noted that the brand will soon be climbing up more polished rungs of the luxury ladder.

Fans of the fantasy saga may also be cognizant of another popular pairing, that of main character Edward Cullen and Volvo. Unlike the former, however, this latter duo blends beautifully.

Volvo Claims Leadership In CO2 Reduction

When it comes down to it, the most effective and direct way to reduce our environmental impact is to reduce the amount of carbon emissions we produce. Simple enough right? Well, while car consumers like Secor Volvo would like to think that all automakers are putting their greenest foot forward, that isn't always the case. Fortunately, Volvo drivers have no need to fret. They can drive their new Volvo models, confident that the auto brand they trust most is environmentally aware. In fact, the European Federation for Transport and Environment (T&E) recently found Volvo to be the European leader in carbon emission reduction.

Volvo to Cease C70 Production at Uddevalla

In order for an automotive company such as Volvo to continue successful production, a re-organization is sometimes necessary. Such is the case with the ending of the Volvo-Pininfarina S.p.a. partnership. From 2005 up until last March, the two companies maintained a joint-venture, manufacturing the Volvo C70 in Uddevalla, Sweden. However, effective in 2013, Volvo will gain sole ownership of Uddevalla operations and has decided to cease C70 production at that point.
