Out Goes the S40 and V50, In Comes the Volvo V40...Again

Volvo enthusiasts are probably aware that the Swedish automaker discontinued its S40 sedan and V50 wagon after the 2011 model year. As sad as the good-byes were, Secor Volvo has moved on and is looking forward to the arrival of other new Volvo models over the next few years.

One such forthcoming vehicle is already slated to replace the S40 and V50. What is that vehicle?, you ask. None other than the Volvo V40. Now, we know exactly what you're thinking and you're absolutely right. The V40 has already seen its run on the lots of dealerships as a wagon and ended production back in 2004. But a good name never really dies and thus Volvo will resurrect the V40 title and attach it to an all-new model.

In this early stage of the game little is known regarding vehicle details. Secor Volvo can tell you, however, that the new V40 will make an official appearance at the Geneva Motor Show in March. Judging from a shadowy teaser image, our best guess is that the Volvo newbie will take the shape of a compact hatchback somewhere above the C30 two-door currently offered in the automaker's lineup.

If you're as eager to see the Volvo V40 model's full reveal as we are, then we're guessing you've already got the Geneva dates checked off on your calendar. For those who aren't planning on catching all the auto show buzz, feel free to tune into our Secor Volvo blog instead.
